ROCBF accredited under Recovery Loan Scheme

Robert Owen Community Banking accredited under Recovery Loan Scheme

Newtown based ethical community lender Robert Owen CBF has been accredited by the British Business Bank and is now able to offer the UK Government-backed Recovery Loan Scheme (RLS).

RLS was launched in April 2021 to help businesses with their recovery from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and provides access to finance for Welsh & UK businesses as they recover and grow following the pandemic.

Robert Owen CBF is now proud to have been accredited as a delivery partner and will provide loans of between £25,001 and £50,000. The loans can be used for any legitimate business purpose including managing cashflow, investment in new equipment and preparing for future growth.

Businesses that have previously taken out a UK Government backed facility are able to access the RLS, although the amount previously borrowed will be considered when their new application is assessed.

Jackie Milton, Head of Operations at Robert Owen CBF, said:

Small businesses are the lifeblood of the Welsh economy, yet when it comes to being able to access the financial support needed to prosper, they are all too often overlooked.

“Our approach is to take the time a small business needs to make the right borrowing decisions and guide them through the application process creating the environment for a fruitful longer-term relationship.

“We have worked with the British Business Bank for a number of years, and that has helped us to create a structure where innovative businesses prosper. Becoming an accredited delivery partner comes at a time when many business owners are looking toward a more positive future.

“During the pandemic we have been working with our customers to ensure they’re positioned to prosper as the economy improves. We continue to work with those who share our view of a prosperous green Welsh economy.”
